School has begun and with it comes the last bits of summer. This summer has been an adventure and has certainly turned out much different than we expected. We have been living at my Mom and Dad’s house for a little more than a month now and things are going very well. In case you don’t know, we are living here while we build our house. The kids are loving it. There is so much to do outside . . . golf cart riding, rollerblading, blackberry + sweet corn + tomato picking . . . and they are enjoying it all. We have started school in our RV. It is not large enough to live in, but for school it is perfect. I love schooling in the RV! There are less distractions like computers and laundry. The kids don’t wander off between each subject; and everything is right at my fingertips . . . literally. Things are going very well. This year in school our focus is turning toward the classics. We just finished reading Peter Pan and are about to watch the Disney movie version. My goal is to get the kids excited about reading . . . to inspire them to want to read . . . and to enjoy it!
I’m trying to document our time spent here at grandma and grandpa’s. It has been a summer like no other. We are very thankful to my parents for putting us up for 9 months or so. It is a huge sacrifice on their part and one I hope all of us look back on with gratefulness. That is my son in the picture . . . eating sweet corn. Their are fields of corn all around us here. Across the road is field corn, but on my parent’s property is the juiciest of sweet corn and we have been trying to eat our summer share.
